Why is a Building and Pest Inspection so important for my Sunshine Coast property?

Purchasing a property, be it residential or commercial, is a big investment. It’s likely to be one of the most significant investments you’ll make in your lifetime. For this reason, its important to have a clear understanding of the current condition of the property and to ensure you are getting what you’re paying for.

A pre-purchase building and pest inspection is a visual assessment of a property. It highlights major and minor building defects and safety hazards. The pest inspection involves visually checking all accessible areas of the property for any evidence of active termites or previous termite damage.

Having a qualified building and pest inspector assess the property prior to purchase could save you thousands by identifying defects that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. You don’t want to go into your purchase blind. With a building and pest inspection, you will have a full understanding of the current condition of the property.

Thermal Imaging Inspection on the Sunshine Coast

At Dedant Building and Pest Inspections, we use the best technology available. This includes a thermal imaging camera and moisture meter. Whilst there’s no tool available that allows us to see behind walls, these tools do allow for a more comprehensive inspection.

A thermal imaging camera is an amazing tool that allows us to detect anomalies that may not be visible to the human eye. Such as large heat spots indicating termite activity or possible water leaks. It is also helpful for identifying rising damp.

A moisture meter is also used during a building and pest inspection. It provides a reading of moisture levels on certain objects and areas like plaster and bathroom tiles. This moisture reading helps our inspectors to ascertain whether there may be any water issues or areas that are conducive to termites.
